ALL MARKET TRADERS will gladly look after your bags of shopping as you go to collect your car and will help load your shopping into your boot for you. They are only too pleased to help. Please use Ringwood Market or you will loose it!! In the March of 1226 Henry III granted a weekly market in Ringwood on Wednesdays to Richard Marshal Earl of Pembroke and Gervaise his wife to hold until the king should come of age. A market for corn, cattle and pigs was held on Wednesdays. Although no longer a corn and animal market, the tradition still carries on every Wednesday. Ringwood once boasted industries such as cloth-making, stocking and glove-knitting, tanning, milling and brewing, the latter which still goes on today.
